Greatest Verb?

love-is-a-verbA verb is an action word. That means, each of its word depicts movement or kinesis. Now, with reference to the preceding, the greatest verb therein the whole world of vocabulary is love. Why? Because love knows no bound. Moreover, it is not bounded by time and space. It supersedes all kinds of human comprehension. That is why, it takes more than man’s lifeline to know and experience genuine and true love. But in while we are yet still living, someone allowed us to see how powerful love is. This is because, love is not just a concept or a mere intangible entity, but it is something that has a great identity and has total tangible representation, Christ himself.

According to A.W. Tozer, love is an attribute of God. And when we say attribute, it is not simply something that God has, but it is who God is. It is his identity to be the total embodiment of love. Imagine looking at the eyes of your friend, and all you can see is love.

We should understand that love is not a feeling, for all emotions are doomed to fade. Just imagine, if love is based on emotion, what will happen to all relationships? What will happen if all feelings would fade? What will remain? Broken hearts, relationships, fatherless home, and others.

1. Love is a conscious decision – We are all created by God to be aware in all things that we do. That is why, God gave us the gift of free will to choose the best response or pick the best choice out of what is being presented in our midst.  Consequently, it is never wise or even not factual to use the statement: “I have fallen in love with you”. For when it is easy to fall in love, it is therefore easier to fall out of love. You just don’t accidentally fall in love to someone. Scientifically, your mind should receive first specific stimuli from the environment. After receiving it, your body would now create proportionate response. Everything would pass through our body, much more to your brain.

2. Real love is expressed (it is also an intentional act)– That is why when God showed His love towards us, He sent His only begotten son to die for our sins. When love is not expressed, it is not love at all. Actions are manifestations of what is found inside.

3. Real love transforms– Love grows and matures. It won’t cease to grow. It changes everything. When expressed in a real number line in Mathematics, it is found from the negative to positive infinity.

As you can see, love starts with a conscious decision, and in no way will it end.

  1. And I certainly agree with you and quote, “Consequently, it is never wise or even not factual to use the statement: “I have fallen in love with you”. For when it is easy to fall in love, it is therefore easier to fall out of love. You just don’t accidentally fall in love to someone.”
